CODING

Program Objectives
See Robotoys in Action
See how students turn ideas into moving, reacting robots through building, coding, and creative engineering.
Powered Robotics and Machine Learning

In RoboToys, students build mechanical robotic models and control them through code. Through the GoAlgo App, AI Chat supports the coding process as students work with commands, actions, and event-based responses. Machine learning allows them to train the AI to recognize inputs, define them as events, and link them to robot commands, enabling the model to respond through code. This helps students understand how trained inputs can trigger robotic actions.

Questions & Answers

The lessons combine hands-on robot building and coding in a structured flow. Students explore the concept, discuss the algorithm, build in pairs, and write the code needed to control each action. They then test, adjust, and upgrade their creations, improving both the design and the code.
No prior experience is required. Each lesson is carefully structured to introduce new concepts gradually, allowing students to follow the process with confidence as they build, code, test, and improve their creations.
Classes are led by trained instructors who follow the Young Engineers guidelines, creating a supportive environment that encourages curiosity, teamwork, and independent thinking.
The program is designed as a progressive learning journey, moving students from basic robot components and simple commands to more complex functions, sensors, and mechanisms. Each lesson builds on the previous one, supporting step-by-step development through structured lessons.
Students are supported through guided practice, instructor feedback, and regular opportunities to review and improve their work, without tests or homework. Progress develops naturally as they participate, apply new ideas, and gain confidence lesson by lesson.
Students receive a Certificate of Participation at the end of the program, recognizing the skills and lessons they have completed.
